Freedom Base

A linear-phase multiband low end enhancer.

Freedom Base is an audio effect plugin designed to make your low end clearer and more powerful.

It does this using intelligent multiband dynamics and saturation that you can dial in quickly—because each band gain-stages itself automatically.

The plugin continuously recalculates its threshold and drive settings for each frequency band, based on how you've set the Compression and Saturation dials. It aims to make lower frequencies punchier and easier to hear, without substantially changing your EQ curve or overall loudness. The plugin aims to keep working through loud and quiet parts of your material, without needing to be recalibrated.

Despite its beginner-friendly user interface, the device employs sophisticated signal processing. Most filters use a linear-phase topology that helps to align the added harmonics in-phase with existing base frequencies. The saturation circuit uses selective oversampling to reduce aliasing at lower sample rates. And the auto-gain has tested to within the ballpark of ±0.1 integrated LUFS (your mileage may vary).

• Parallel processing via dual gain-matched dry/wet mix controls for dynamics and saturation
• Automatic make-up gain targeting neutral LUFS impact
• Mid and/or side processing

How to use

• Use Freedom Base on your master bus or on individual low-end tracks
• Set the Release time to best complement the groove of your material
• Turn up the Compression dials for more punch, but avoid choking off any sustained low-frequency tones
  
• If needed, use the "Mid" and "Side" buttons to toggle Mid or Side processing on/off
• Click the gain reduction display for instant A/B test (bypass mode continues to use CPU in order to keep the plugin calibrated to the incoming signal)
  
• Double-click to reset a dial to its default value, or hold <CTRL>/<CMD> to fine-tune

• Available in VST3 format for PC, and VST3 & AU formats for Mac. AAX support coming soon
• Requires a compatible Digital Audio Workstation or other plugin host
• Linear-phase crossover filters (crossover frequencies not user-adjustable)
• 27ms latency
  
• No external sidechain capability
• Plugin is designed for common audio signals such as music and voice; may not react meaningfully to artificial test signals such as chirps, impulses or bursts
